Thank you for choosing to have a course of physiotherapy treatment at Wholelife Physiotherapy.
To determine if physiotherapy is going to help you solve your problem, we will get you in
as soon as possible. In the first appointment we’ll ask you a series of questions about how the problem started, where you feel your symptoms, and what aggravates or alleviates them. The better you know your problem, and the sooner you seek treatment, the easier it is for us to help you.
Next we will examine the area/s involved (maintaining your modesty at all times of
course) to fully diagnose the root cause of the problem. We can then discuss treatment
options, treatment techniques, expected length of recovery, and what you can do at
home to manage the problem yourself. Our aim is to get you better as quickly as we can,
so you get back to your ‘whole life’ as soon as possible.
What should I wear?
To assess you properly your physiotherapist may need you to undress down to your
underwear. Please bring shorts because they may be suitable for some treatments.
Is what I say confidential?
Everything you tell your physiotherapist is completely confidential.
Physiotherapy should relieve your symptoms, however, certain treatments may initially increase your pain/symptoms prior to reducing them. Consequently it is not uncommon to feel an increase in pain/soreness later that day or the following day. If at any point post treatment you are concerned, please do not hesitate to contact us immediately.
Physiotherapy does have a very high success rate but recovery cannot be guaranteed with every patient. During your physiotherapy appointment in order to ensure your comfort you are more than welcome to:
Ask the physiotherapist to stop treatment at any time.
It is your duty to inform the physiotherapist of any medical condition
If you have any questions at any point throughout the course of your appointment, please do not hesitate to ask.
Your treatment will often involve you being taught rehabilitation exercises to do at home. If you are required to use any exercise equipment you will be advised how to do so safely and effectively, we do not advise you to use any alternative equipment.
